Activity:

  • Project B implementation

Notes:

  • While implementing the design I noticed a few places where I messed up and didn’t take the jump power into consideration, so I did minor tweaks in a few spots, mostly just moving stuff by 1 tile up/down.
  • The part of my level with spikes is quite hard, so I made the spike colliders smaller and made a bit more room for error with moving them a bit.
  • I don’t think the “precise jumper” kind of game really suits the 2D game kit controller after playtesting it for a while.
  • My level was actually quite simple to make as I didn’t really think up a lot of things to add.

Activity:

  • Finished the project B and tested it for a bit.

Notes:

  • Had to change a small part of the level as I was getting stuck in 1 tile wide jumps pretty often but didn’t really find out why it happens so much. When I moved the character closer to this part to test it it worked normally, so I think it has something to do with Ellen reviving and messing up the collisions somehow, but I didn’t really manage to fix it.
  • I replaced the original parallax background as a more solid dark background felt better.
  • Also added delays for some platforms as I didn’t really have them wait at all and the jumps were quite brutal to hit right.
